Another of UL's FSRI Fire Protection Research Engineer talks about the skills needed for the job, the most interesting part of working with fire, and what he likes most about his job. This video provides examples of careers in safety science and engineering and insights into the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in STEM.

This 2 minute video shows the dangers of carbon monoxide and how to protect your family including how to create a fire evacuation plan. Can be sent home to families with a happy holidays letter from teacher or school.

Based on a study of Safety Smart conducted with preschool age children in five countries, results and findings are reported. Overall, children’s knowledge and behavior were found to be positively affected by the Safety Smart program. Significant gains in knowledge were found one week following participation, suggestive of longer-term knowledge impact.

This is an infographic for parents and students preparing to go back to school highlighting safety ideas including riding the bus, brain breaks, getting enough sleep and staying healthy during the school year. These can be sent home to families with a welcome back letter, shown at back-to-school night, or given to students on the first day of school.
